Reclusive NY sludge/doom outfit HUSH. return to offer “Untitled II” - their first new music in two years. Initially appeared in 2012, with the release of “Untitled I” a 7 song EP recorded in an abandoned warehouse with a literal wall of amplifiers. Since then, the band has made a name for themselves with the release of their follow up full length record “Unexist” in 2014 and 2016’s acclaimed “Nihil Unbound” EP.

Recorded shortly after the release of “Nihil Unbound”, this new release “Untitled II” was initially intended to be two separate releases, and as a result it is comprised of both new and old material. In essence the album is a reimagining of the bands debut “Untitled I” rerecorded. The songs’ arrangements have been changed to reflect the band’s evolution over time and was recorded with the line-up that was in place during the brief touring cycle for “Nihil Unbound”

The opening two album tracks were intended to be part of a split release planned directly after “Nihil Unbound” was completed in 2016, however they were never released. These songs point to the next phase of growth in the band’s sound and evolution, focusing on emotional heaviness in their compositions as well as maintaining their sonic density.

In keeping with HUSH.’s penchant for putting their music to tape in unusual places, the album was recorded over a long weekend by long-time collaborator Ryan Slowey and current bassist Craig Dutra in the basement of a log cabin in rural upstate, NY and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege in Portland, OR. “Untitled II” will be released exclusively on digital platforms via Sludgelord Records (SLR011) Friday July 13 2018

Merci Déhà for the download code. Lots of bands use these ingredients – pretty female vocals over doomy guitars always sounds good, but usually that's where the ideas run out. That isn't the case here. Each song is packed with ideas and evolutions, genres and references it's boring to list but not at all to listen to. A pleasure to have been introduced to this. Luke
