Sleazebag started out as a one-man grindcore project. Due to a shift in musical preference his style changed to doom/sludge in 2019 inspired by the sound of bands like Conan, Lung Molde and Goblinsmoker. A 2-track demo was released by Brutal Cave Productions the same year, recorded and produced DIY at home.
In 2020 a split release with french sludge band Peine Kapital got picked up by Sludgelord Records.
Sleazebag plays downtuned fuzzy doom/sludge with political lyrics revolving around current issues. Which there are a lot of.

Peine Kapital is a 3-piece sludge/doom band born in 2017 in Strasbourg (Eastern France) from the ashes of The Pledge Of Cain (2005-2013). Since then, the band has never stopped exploring hostile soundscapes, tirelessly pushing its own limits, and following the footsteps of legendary bands such as Burning Witch, Grief and Corrupted. Their two first demos "Équarrisseur" and "Sanguinarium" have shown some brutal and pessimistic sludge of the grimiest variety, by combining super-harsh vocals, hatred-filled riffs and bone-crushing percussions. Sensitive to political issues, social and environmental crisis, Peine Kapital aspire to be the conscious witness of a decaying world.

Merci Déhà for the download code. Lots of bands use these ingredients – pretty female vocals over doomy guitars always sounds good, but usually that's where the ideas run out. That isn't the case here. Each song is packed with ideas and evolutions, genres and references it's boring to list but not at all to listen to. A pleasure to have been introduced to this.

Have only listened to the first three tracks so far. Somehow the indie/grunge/funereal/doom elements meld together well. Well worth a listen! 😁 Update - couldn't stop listening. No weak tracks.
