Remote Viewing is a noise rock band featuring ex-members of Palehorse, Million Dead and I Want You Dead. Formed at the end of 2016 the band is comprised of John Atkins (bass), James Bryant (guitar), Tom Fowler (guitar), Dimitris Sakellariou (drums) and Nikolai von Stieglitz (vocals).
Following Their formation, the band wasted no time in creating and recording their debut record ‘Blood Loss’ during the winter of 2017. That album was released by Hominid Sounds on vinyl the following Summer and quickly established Remote Viewing as a staple on the UK underground scene.
After touring the songs from Blood Loss for the rest of that year, Remote Viewing went into hibernation in late November 2018 to write and record the follow up record, the result of which is ‘Its Better This Way’.
Consisting of 8 songs, tracked live in the room at Bear Bites Horse studios in March 2019 with the notable Wayne Adams (of Pet Brick, Big Lad and Death Pedals) behind the console, ‘It’s Better This Way’ shares a similar sonic space with its predecessor. However, along with the bleakness there is also light.
Rubbing shoulders with the bands signature crushing doom are elements of alternative noise-rock , the chug and buzzsaw guitars of hardcore, the introspection of post rock and nods to US indie.The intertwining layers of frenetic noise and tension even give way to glorious washes of shoegaze-y feedback.
The album features guest vocals from Pede of Alkerdeel, Seedi of Palehorse and Ed of Sly and the Family Drone/Nitkowski.
‘It’s Better This Way’ will be released on a limited cassette run via Sludgelord Records and self-released on digital and CD by Remote Viewing on 08 November 2019.

Merci Déhà for the download code. Lots of bands use these ingredients – pretty female vocals over doomy guitars always sounds good, but usually that's where the ideas run out. That isn't the case here. Each song is packed with ideas and evolutions, genres and references it's boring to list but not at all to listen to. A pleasure to have been introduced to this.

Have only listened to the first three tracks so far. Somehow the indie/grunge/funereal/doom elements meld together well. Well worth a listen! 😁 Update - couldn't stop listening. No weak tracks. Music that won't stand still, but holds up well throughout. My favourite non-electronic release for some time. Thanks so much for the code! 😎
